Dear parishioners! We often remind you, both from the pulpit, and in the church bulletin, that you let us know when someone in your family is ill, either in hospital, an old-age home or at home. Please - do not fear that if you call a priest, that this means it’s time to die! Remember the words of the Evangelist James “Are any among you sick? They should call for the elders of the Church and have them pray over them, anointing them with oil in the name of the Lord. And their prayer offered in faith will heal the sick, and the Lord will make them well. And if they have committed sins, these will be forgiven.” (James 5:14-15) From these words we should understand that the Holy Sacrament of  Anointing of the Sick is not for dying but for the healing of soul and body. Therefore let us be aware of this and in all trials and sicknesses let us turn to the Lord through the Holy Sacraments and prayer, and the Lord will always help us. So we turn to you, again, please, if you or someone in your family is ill, let our priests know about it as soon as possible, either personally or by calling our parish office. In emergency situations please call our cell phones which are specifically for this purpose, the numbers are 416-268-2330, 416-268-2033 and 416-903-7071. May the Lord God bless you all!
